Buying Guide

Buying Guide: Find the Right Ride

Not sure which RIDEN model is for you? This guide breaks it down by how you'll actually use it.

1. How will you ride?

  • City commuting: look for a folding e-bike or city e-bike — light, compact, and easy to store. EAPC models are road-legal with no licence needed.
  • Longer journeys / hills: a mountain or trekking e-bike with a bigger battery and wider gear range gives you more range and easier climbing.
  • Short hops & portability: a folding electric scooter is the most compact, quickest to grab and go.
  • Everyday independence: a mobility scooter offers stable, comfortable, low-speed travel.
  • For the kids: speed-limited children's scooters sized by age.

2. Range — how far per charge?

Check each product's stated real-world range and match it to your typical journey, with margin to spare. Range varies with rider weight, terrain, and assist mode — we list realistic figures, not lab-best numbers.

3. Battery

A removable battery lets you charge indoors or carry a spare for extra range. Larger capacity (Ah) generally means more range.

4. Weight & folding

If you'll carry it upstairs or onto transport, weight and fold size matter. Folding models are best for flats and small spaces.

5. Legal use

Make sure the model suits where you'll ride — see our UK E-Bike & Scooter Law page. EAPC e-bikes are road-legal; higher-powered models are for private land.
